Ever heard of “mind over matter”? Well what will be discoursed is similar to this effect. Learning hypnosis is like knowing that you could have the will to overpower all that sends you off to the world of negative oblivion. Hypnosis, though the process entails bringing you to a state of trance or a state where your subconscious mind may be accessed, it is also a good form of giving you an even wider and higher awareness.
Many are in awe as much as in fear of the process of hypnosis. Perhaps this is because of the different ways of understanding it and looking at it. For those who have experienced hypnosis as a therapy and have come into terms with its benefit, hypnosis is life-changing and is mainly the reason why they were rid of bad habits or addictions; why their self-esteem has greatly increased; or why they have overcome the fear of pain and the feeling of pain itself. If for these reasons one may be driven to learn hypnosis by himself, perhaps he needs to consider a few things.
Hypnosis for yourself has to be equaled with consent and trust. Consent is the key to bringing yourself into acceptance of the process as well as the outcome it could have. Trust should be there whether you are being administered by a clinician or hypnotist or even trust in yourself that you could very well carry out hypnosis without inhibitions and with total surrender to the positive change and call to action.
Emotions are a big matter in hypnosis. We are so often biased by our emotions hence creating the possibility of either the success or the failure of any endeavor. This is true with hypnosis. If your emotion is heavy and full of anxiety over the crossing over of your subconscious to produce a positive change, then perhaps you are not ready for hypnosis. It could take a proper emotional conditioning to do this successfully.
Finally you have to value feedback made after the hypnosis. If you intend to move to a better level of living in a holistic manner, perhaps you should consider feedbacks and make them work for your advantage. Take it constructively. And most importantly, develop the sense of gratitude. Be grateful for the things around you that have moved you into a positive action and change. Be grateful for the things around you that have opened a heightened and positive awareness. After all these and especially after noting good changes and development in yourself after your self-hypnosis sessions, reward yourself. You deserve more than a “pat in the back” as you have earned your right to a better life.
Self-hypnosis is a great instrument to achieve that better life and it won’t happen unless you surrender to it.
