Stage Hypnosis Doesn’t Have Any Persuasion Secrets

by David Drake on August 12, 2010

Again and again there are stage hypnosis packages being marketed that deceptively market the power that stage hypnosis has over others. This isn’t only false advertising, it is complete nonsense. In fact, stage hypnosis is even less related to the art of persuasion than Ericksonian Hypnosis.

The reason why stage hypnosis is not related to the art of persuasion is because stage hypnosis needs volunteers. A stage hypnotist first asks people to come up on stage, and by doing so the stage hypnotist is getting their permission to make an effort to hypnotize them. The persuasion process, in contrast, doesn’t need a person’s agreement in order for a person to successfully be persuaded by another person. This is perhaps one of the most essential facts about persuasion any would-be persuasion artist needs to fully contemplate, that stage hypnosis cannot efficiently operate without volunteers.

Another thing you will recognize about stage hypnosis is how stage hypnotists often disqualify the volunteers who came up on stage during the stage hypnosis show. You will repetitively notice the stage hypnotist tell people to go back to their seats and enjoy the show. The reason why the stage hypnotist is doing this is because the stage hypnotist is cautiously watching the volunteers as he gives them commands. Each time the stage hypnotist observes a person not doing exactly as the stage hypnotist says, the stage hypnotist will make this person return to the audience. Once again, this is confirmation that stage hypnosis depends way more on the loyalty of volunteers than it does upon the mind control tactics of covert hypnosis.

The volunteers who do everything the stage hypnotist says are the people whom the stage hypnotist will finalize his show with. It is these people who cluck like chickens, who pretend they don’t remember anything, and who assist the stage hypnotist in giving off the impression that some potent persuasion techniques are at work during the stage hypnosis show. The only thing the stage hypnotist is doing with the volunteers who come up on stage is getting the volunteers used to obeying his suggestions. First, he’ll have them take deep breaths, then he’ll have them do other minor tasks before he begins to raise the stakes in what he tells them to do.

Real persuasion techniques are far beyond what happens during a stage hypnosis event. Stage hypnosis is only for entertainment, but mind control tactics are what consist of the principles that are needed for you to get what you want from other people. In real life situations, stage hypnosis will profit you little. This means that covert hypnosis is the only form of hypnosis that will give you the ability to persuade people and get what you want from them. Covert hypnosis is the most powerful form of persuasion, because covert persuasion is undetectable, disguised, and impossible for anyone to resist.
