Like meditation, self-hypnosis also requires deep relaxation and focus. It is very similar to meditation only that it requires a third party to give the suggestions needed for the hypnosis to operate. If you are into hypnosis, try to follow these tips because they might just help:
* Hypnosis will only work if you do not restrict your hypnotist from reaching your subconscious mind. You have to be well aware of what you want to achieve and why you have resorted to hypnosis in order to achieve it. Each session should not start without you knowing your goals, in this way your hypnosis session will be on track.
* For first timers, hypnosis should not be done when you are not fully relaxed. It is really bad for hypnotism if the person is forced into it without being relaxed first. Being tired and feeling body pains will also make you unable to focus and concentrate. With these, hypnosis is impossible. If needed, take a warm shower first or elevate your feet so that you will feel relaxed faster.
*As much as possible work on your self-hypnosis exercises at least 15-30 minutes each time. You also have to formulate suggestions carefully an properly. Apart from focus and concentration, hypnosis also requires you to be systematic and organized with your thoughts.
* You should also entertain positive thoughts only when dealing with hypnotism. It is highly recommended to avoid negative thoughts and only associate yourself with good feelings. Neglect doubt and fear, do not entertain anxiety and worries else your session will only be fruitless.
* Pick a quite place to do your self-hypnosis. When you practice, do it in a quite spot. Get rid of any possible distractions. If the background noise cannot be shut off, counter the noise by playing soft music. In fact, music can be used as a very effective tool to facilitate better hypnosis. Music allows you to reach your subconsciousness fast.
* Make yourself feel comfortable. Position your body in such as way that you feel relaxed, by doing so you will be able to enter the hypnotic state fast. You may use a recliner because it can make your body feel more relaxed. But you should be sure that you will not fall asleep while doing self-hypnosis as it will defeat your purpose. An ideal position is sitting with your spine straight and you feet flat on the floor.
