How To Employ Your Subconscious Mind Power To Effortlessly Increase Your Self Confidence

by Xavier J. Murphy on November 15, 2010

Have you ever gone to a party by yourself? Or maybe found yourself at a social gathering and were momentarily separated from your friends? How did it feel? OK? Nerve wracking? Were you able to walk up to any group and start a conversation? Most people have a lot of trouble doing that.

There’s a lot that goes on in your psyche when you mull over doing something like that, the majority of which goes on well beneath conscious appreciation. Your brain is a wonderful, elegant organ that is amazingly speedy when it comes to sniffing out danger. One thing that has kept people existing on this earth is that our brains often over estimate the hazard we may come across when we think about doing something fresh.

This is about what happens in your intelligence when you mull over walking over and introducing yourself to a collection of interesting people. First your brain scans your recollection of all the times you’ve met anybody new, or expressed yourself to a stranger in some way. Then it figures out the risk involved, and then it calculates the possible advantage. Then it comes back with a “feeling” that lets you know whether or not it’s secure.

If you saw a hundred dollar bill lying on the footpath, it would be an effortless decision. If you saw a hundred dollar bill lying next to a tiger, it would be wholly different. In the first situation, you’d be energized. In the second situation, you’d be terrified.

The problem with human interaction is that often times what we think transpired isn’t what actually transpired. We often misconstrue events. We truly have no idea what folks mean when they speak and perform things, so we allocate meaning to them. So when our brains go and access our memories to consider a situation, the memories that it comes back with are not authentic. They were just recollections that we made up on the fly because we thought we knew what was going on.

The decent news is, there’s a trick around this. Using some easy self hypnosis and some well crafted statements, you can readily train your brain to feel extremely poised in any social situation. Here’s how.

First, come up with your declaration, or affirmation. Make sure it is stated in optimistic terms, and in the present tense. Also make sure it is filled with appreciation and emotions. That is key. Without optimistic emotions, your statements or affirmations will fall flat, and won’t do much. Anything like this is fine:

I get pleasure from speaking with people, and I am grateful for my ability to walk up and happily and confidently establish a discussion with anybody. I am a self-assured, friendly person, and I really enjoy talking with new people. I have always been confident and sociable. I enjoy all my experiences with talking to new people.

Write it so it makes sense to you, and describes how you’d truly like to be.

When you make this declaration, be sure to be in a relaxed, sluggish state of mind. This is the best time to retrain your subconscious. Sit back in a comfy chair, and count down from ten to one. Breath deeply for each breath, and say, “I am…” on the inhale, and “relaxed,” on the exhale. You’ll discover that every time you do this it gets easier and more simple.

An additional great time to do this is just as you are falling asleep, and just as you wake up. It can help out to keep a small card next to your bed so to remind you to think of it first thing in the morning. Saying it both before sleep and upon awakening has a powerful transformative effect.

After you are in that tranquil, lethargic state, begin your proclamation. Say it strongly, and with as much emotion as you can generate. Feelings of gratefulness will help this come to pass much faster.

If you keep doing this on a regular basis, you’ll be the center of attention in no time.
