My Take on How to be an Expert Persuader
Since I’ve been studying the subject of influence and persuasion for over 15 years, I was very keen to pick up a copy of Michael Lee’s book so I could write this review.
Michael is a guy who describes himself as having gone through a tough childhood. He suffered from terribly poor confidence, and was exceptionally gullible. He overcame these issues by studying the tools of persuasion and influence over a number of years. He then compiled his book by including all of the best information he felt was worthy of teaching to others.
Anyway let’s cut to the chase here. Is his book any good? The simple answer is yes. It’s pretty good. I can say that with some authority since I’ve trained as an NLP practitioner and Master Hypnotist. I’ve read tons of books on the subject, and Lee’s book is not short on content. It’s also a very easy read.
In my review of “How to be an Expert Persuader” there were also some things I didn’t like, but they are relatively minor and involve the sales process more than the book itself. Simply put, I’m not a big fan of how the sales page makes it sound as if this book is full of secrets. Sure, maybe YOU will want to keep the information secret from those you wish to influence, but the tools are all very commonly known among experts in the persuasion, influence, and hypnosis circles.
What this really means is that you don’t HAVE to buy Michael Lee’s book. If you want to go get books from so-called “credible” authors who are well known, you could easily learn the same material. But you’d have to buy several books and it would probably cost you a lot more money in the end. From that perspective, I think Lee’s book is a good price.
What are the alternatives to “How to be an Expert Persuader”?
It really depends what you are looking for. If you want to influence people through the power of conversational hypnosis, then you could check out Igor Ledochowski’s audio course instead of a book. I definitely recommend it, but it’s nearly $200.
Michael Lee has clearly incorporated most of the important aspects of both of the above-mentioned products in his book, which is why I said it’s a good value. Besides, if you happen to disagree he offers you a 60-day refund. Since he sells his book through the Clickbank marketplace, we know the refund policy is very real.
What’s Included in “How to be an Expert Persuader”?
The book itself is 20 chapters, and the concept is for you to read one chapter per day. In other words, you’ll read about 20 pages per day and then apply the tools you learned in your life over the course of the next 24 hours. This way you are building tool upon tool until you have a high degree of competence. Reading 20 pages will probably take 15 or 20 minutes, so it’s very manageable isn’t it?
He also gives you the audio version of the book so that you can listen to it on your favorite MP3 player or iPod. I think that’s a nice touch – don’t you?
